On 29 Jun 2019, Saturday team iCast organized a One Day Company Picnic as a quarterly activity programmer. Since some new team members have recently joined the company who does not belong to the city- Ahmedabad, the decided to go to see one of the city’s famous place- Science City!
Rather than making it a boring day out, management of the Company – Ellipsis Infotech decided to make the picnic memorable. Management planned the visit of the place by adding a flavor to it. The visit got clubbed with a scavenger hunt!
Instead of going through the halls one by one, they were asked to create separate teams of 3-4 people and were given the tasks to perform. By that they had to experience different rides, eat food, run from one hall to another and needed to explore the place well. Of course, there was a price for the winning team! It turned out to be a great activity day for the team!

Task: Time Capsule to Thrill Yourself!
Employees were to find the ride/activity from which can relate to the given task and they had to perform it with proof.
Task: Experience the life 5000 ft below ground!
There was a ride that made you experience the life of coal miners and how do they work! For the sake of hint, employees were to ask to go through the website before the event started!
Task: Take a selfie with T- Rex with Icecream in hand!
What could be a better way to give them some relaxation in between the challenges?
Task: Experience the snow & Dessert Smell Flowers – all at once!
This was a tricky one. Almost all the teams had gone crazy to find this one out! One team got this challenge first and they could not crack it till others had completed 3 challenges! But just to figure this one out, they explored the Science City so extreme that they finished all other tasks in a giffy and ultimately won the price! Now, who would have thought that!
Unfortunately, the ride was closed for maintenance. But, they still needed to perform the exercise to find this one and had to take a picture.
Task: Take Pictures with Kalpana Chaval!
The Final Quest was given to all the teams. It was a hall of Science & Space and that’s where they were asked to assemble and was the place to declare the winners!
Initially, the team took a pic with Sunita Williams, which was rejected and they were forced to find Kalpana Chawla. What a funny ending of the quest.
A close call between two teams! As I mentioned, the team which was the slowest, in the beginning, won!
The prize money was handed over to the winning team!
It was a wonderful experience to spend such an eventful day with the team! Helps a lot in getting to know each other. Until you do such activities, you are just under the illusion that you know your team but you get to know ‘real them’ when you do something like this! The whole new personality appears in front and your perspective changes!
